potters cat = crookshanks

ok, i've been thinking this since i read DH..

potters had a cat, on wich, it seems, JK forgot at the end..
hermione had crookshanks, who was mentoned only ones in last book..
meny of us have been wondering
what hapend to potters cat in the end

well, i think that potters cat = crookshanks.
after voldemort killed potters, potters cat run away,
and somehow endid up in a pet shop, from wich hermione buyed her!
that would explain how crookshanks was friend with sirius,
and chased skobers - he knew them from before!

i think croockshanks was the potters second child, she barked over madeye, who transformed her into a cat. lily and james thought their child ran away. but took the cat they thought madeye had given them. and then crookshank just remained a cat.

Luna what a brilliant theory! I love the idea of Crookshanks being the Potter's former cat.

Have I mentioned you're... um... what's the word? Oh yeah. COMPLETELY INSANE?

Crookshanks never seemed very old to me, and cats don't live that long. Interesting theory, Luna, but I just don't agree.

cats can live up to 25 years.

that cat could very possibly still be alive while Harry, Hermione etc were students.

if Crookers was 3 when Harry's parents died. Harry was 1.
Harry was 17 at the end of Deathly Hallows - Crookers would have been 19. (rare - but not impossible).

I hadn't thought about the time-line before - thanks hedders... I think that thinking about the time line makes it even cooler a possibility!

Isn't it strange that Crookers didn't have much of a role in the movies? Where was Crooks when they went into the Shrieking Shack after Ron and Sirius in the movie? No sitting on Sirius's chest to protect him when Harry was going to hurt/kill him. Another eg. of the movie boiling all the characters- and character- of the books into thin vapour of their original.

Discussion: The Potter's Cat .. could it be Crookshanks ?

That's interesting . But I don't think crookshanks was Potter's cat , or JK might want to point it out . It could be a different story about how crookshanks traveled after Lily and James died if it really once belonged to them .

hi luna!! i don't think crooshanks was d same cat. i don't think it wud survive. sirius or lupin wud hav realised dat crooshanks was potter's cat.but still ur theory is brilliant!!!
