I didn't assume it - it is a surprise.
I've just started reading Philosopher's Stone again... it will be interesting to see whether there are any other hints throughout the books.

I know ! I read it ( in Chinese ) earlier and I was stunned !

There are always some people questioning a celebrity's (well let's just state Dumbledore a " celebrity" ) sexuality if he or she doesn't have amorous affairs , but I've never wondered if Dumbledore was a HOMOSEXUAL .

no, idont think you will find something...this is made up after she has finished the books, or when she was very far into it, ithink. very weak

I don't think it matters if dumbledore IS gay or not.

In the book and the movie Prizoner of Azkaban, I thought they were making the point that we shouldn't persecute people because of their peculiarities or differences. With particular reference to Lupin.
In the movie- I thought Lupin was gay (not that it matters one bit).

You can be decent AND gay, just as you can be terrible and hetero.

i heard form one of my friends who lives in deleware yesterday... i kind of didn't want to beleive it... but i guess it's inevitably true...
who else shed a tear hearing this news? i did.. i expected Dumbledore's late wife had died or soemthing, it never even crossed my mind taht hew was gay!!! oh my golly!!! those are the three emotinos i felt at one time!! ohmy golly!!!! anywho,
