I was really shocked and displeased by the announcement. I feel like what she did made her 'just like everyone ...

I was really shocked and displeased by the announcement. I feel like what she did made her 'just like everyone else' in that she tried to used what she'd accomplished to make a political statement. It added nothing to the story...was pointless, IMO. The books were completely fictional and fantasy and a complete escape from 'the real world' she brought real life contorversial issues into them.

yea the similarities between nazis and death eaters, muggles and half bloods and jews, voldemort and hitler are kinda obvious i think she got here ideas from there but other than that she probally made the rest up with some historical figures like some greek or roman guy she says is a wizard in the first book on chocolate frog card hes some philosopher or something

Granted, the similarities are the same, but I seriously doubt her goal was to take those events and write a fictional novel based on them with such a direct connection. The similarities are there because people choose to interpret them as such you choose to view them as representations of that era.

Is it not possible now and then for someone to do something with motivation that is NOT centered around proving a point or taking a political stance on current world issues? I would hope so! I view the stories to be just that--stories, fictional and written for the purpose of entertaining and pleasing the reader.

fictional writing usually is biographical or autobiographical even if it is an imaginary world all fiction writing is based off of something and every writer puts in polotical messages whether meaning to or not
