| Chapter 13 - Nicolas Flamel - book one. Snape suddenly takes an interest in Quidditch and wants to referee the match. The first Quidditch match Snape saved Harry from Quirrell & Voldie. I would suggest Snape chose to referee the match to protect Harry from any other potential attacks. Easier to patrol the match & crowd from the Umpire's broom. further in that chapter - 'Harry seemed to keep running into Snape wherever he went. At times, he even wondered whether Snape was following him, trying to catch him on his own.' further evidence of Snape protecting Harry. constantly ensuring that Harry is safe. During the match Harry caught the snitch in record time. Could Snape have ensured the snitch was easily catchable... ? Thus, ensuring a quick match, and removing Harry from the vulnerable position of being up in the air? the final bit of that chapter. Snape & Quirrell have a confrontation in the forest. Snape gives Quirrell the ultimatum that 'we'll have another little chat soon, when you've had time to think things over and decided where your loyalties lie.' It's amazing how you feel about things once you have read all the books and start over... |

Choose, unless you wish to stay here forevermore, To help you in your choice, we give you these clues four; first, however slyly the poison tries to hide You will always find some on nettle wine's left side; Second, different are those who stand at either end, but if you would move onwards, neither is your friend; Third, as you see clearly, all are different size, Neither dwarf nor giant holds death in their insides; Fourth, the second left and the second on the right And twins once you taste them, though different at first sight.' .... 'Brilliant,' said Hermione, 'this isn't magic - it's logic - a puzzle. a lot of the greatest wizards haven't got an ounce of lgic, they'd be stuck in here for ever.' *********** JK Rowling is brilliant. Snape is brilliant... |
