I think I read the interview somewhere which JK said she declared the pronunciation of Hermione by letting Hermione teach Krum how to pronounce it correctly in GoF .
It's her-MY-oh-nee actually . They emphasize the " MY " on the website .

Well, personally I always defer to HP Lexicon for spell pronounciations- though they may get those from the movie...I always figured that JKR was consulted to some extent on pronounciation. :/

I either just go ahead and pronounce it like it's said in the movies or else just how I decided to say it! I'm always wrong with my pronounciation though! *lol*
To me, "Sirius" couldn't have been 'serious' so I said "Si-rus" (But I now say 'serious' since seeing the film).
I thought 'Accio' was 'A-see-o'!
I thought "Pensieve" was just like, 'pen-sieve', then in the film Dumbledore goes posh with it and says, "Pen-seeve"

That's a point. How is pensieve meant to be said?

for consistency with the english language....

thieve - is pronounced - theeeve
sieve - should logically have the same vowel sound.

Although in Australia - we did learn 'siv' and 'seeve' as alternate ways to pronounce the same thing.

I always pronounced it pensiv, but I think that's because I pronounce the word "pensive" wrong as well. (I say pen-siv).
I have no excuse as to being a Londoner or what.
