Default Horcrux and Voldemort's final moments...

'Dumbledore was sure Riddle already knew how to make a Horcrux by the time he asked Slughorn about them...'

'Isn't there any way of putting yourself back together?' Ron asked.

'Yes'.... 'Remorse,' said Hermione. 'You've got to really feel what you've done. There's a footnote. Apparently the pain of it can destroy you. I can't see Voldemort attempting it, somehow, can you?'

**************************

perhaps when Harry said

'You're right. But before you try to kill me, I'd advise you to think about what you've done... think, and try for some remorse, Riddle...'

he wasn't trying to 'save Voldemort' - but to actually bring Voldemort to feeling pain enough to finish himself off.

Perhaps Harry wasn't trying to 'act the hero' this time....

Hmmmm that's a tough one.

No matter which way Voldermort chose there'd be death but with remorse it seems there'd be something else.. maybe peace? I think Harry offered it for that reason. So, even when he wasn't trying he was still all about rescue and hero stuff.

I loved the way he got all alpha male about it ..."go on be a man ... try for some remorse." oohhh wouldn't that make you seethe!

I don't think there would have been peace for Voldemort.
We saw what Voldemort's afterlife would have become when Harry was in limbo-land with Dumbledore.... Perhaps Voldemort was conscious of what his afterlife would become too...

i dont think that voldie would have been aware of his after life, i don't think that he gave it much thought. he tried so hard to become imortal by splitting his sole that i think he never considered the possibility that he was going to lose to harry. let alone die.
