Turn the page?

Not a life changing thread but I was just wonderin....
How many of you got to the end, read "all was well" and turned the page to carry on readin? That is exactly what I did and I thought I musta lost some pages.

I guess I didn't turn the page exactly. But I did wish it had been a more comprehensive ending.

I know we've said a lot here, on HPC, about The Deathly Hallows being less than JKR's best effort.

Has anyone else acknowledged it?

Who do you mean by anyone else exactly. I'm a bit confused, which is of course utterly usual for me.

You mean someone other than a fan? Like an editor -- JKR herself?

We've kindof beaten the poor horse to death haven't we. I guess we are about to turn it into glue, but it's still so unsatisfying that I'm not ready to let go of it yet . . .

I did. But that was partly because I had expected the book to end with scar, so....

Well, someone should. But other fans either love JKR too much to even suggest anything remotely negative, or aren't analytical enough to take apart DH as we have done. At least, anyone in the same boat as us probably doesn't have any more influence than we do. Real critics probably don't even bother to really review Harry Potter- but that's understandable, who wants all the illiterate fans flaming you? *Shakes head*

Yeah I thought that. No-one wants to say anythin bad in case they get called disloyal. But I genuinely turned the page ready to read on. I was so shocked that it had ended like that. Sorry Mcd. Think it's me that's been bangin on the most.

I had already decided by that point that DH certainly wasn't going to live up to all my expectations, so I wasn't exactly shocked.

Don't worry yourself Becca, in comparison, I've banged on it much, much, MUCH more than you. (Considering I only joined AFTER DH came out.... well, the numbers even scare ME, at times. I had a lot of rants stored up.)
McD is just *trying* to tease me. Which is ridiculous, because she herself has beaten this horse quite a lot as well.

Oh, I was very, very, very tempted to do the same thing.
But as a Slytherin, I've a reputation to retain, so I put quite some effort into attempting logical rants instead. I've definitely failed multiple times.
We ranters need to band together- I'll have to talk to mcD about starting that club. Roflmao.
