But it's also, in the context of characterizations, instead of simply JKR's imagination- admittedly, nicely displayed in Vol-de-mort, also somewhat frightening.
Riddle fashioned this name for himself. It's an anagram AND a play on words in French. He's scarily intelligent. (As Ollivander said, terrible and great.)

i like tonks, i thot that was an awesome anme and i also like ariana, and hermonie (even tho u said no main characters) and draco was a cool name to me...i just thot jk used a lot of interesting names and she did an excellent job with the books! (i also like voldemort!!!)
