I never thought about it before, because I was just happy that she finally started with it, and left all the books for "beginners" (you know with pictures in it, not more than 100 pages, stories about horses and whatever) behind her . But now, I am not sure if I can let her go until the end.
Is there anybody who has some experiences with kids in that age? |
I work with gifted 8th graders for the most part -- a few 9th/10th and every once in a while a 7th grader. So they are more than ready for the HP experience.
As a parent, I would let my boys read the books. I would also let them know that they would get more difficult in content and that it would be ok to set them aside if they became too difficult to handle, that you were there to discuss the books with if she wanted. She may decide to set them aside herself. She may not read them as "deeply" as you do because of her age. -- know I'm talking in hindsight here and take that for what it's worth.
