Question Luna and Neville?
Someone told me that in an interview J. K. Rowling said that Luna ended up marrying Neville. That's the first I've heard of it. I wonder if anyone else has read something like that. It makes sense that they would end up together. If this is merely a rumor, what do you think happened?

I'm sure I read somewhere in an interview that while she hadn't originally intede any kind of Luna/Neville relationship, it kind of grew on her.... and I think she said that they were married and Luna was a wizarding naturalist.

I think that may have been in the MSNBC interview.

I would much prefer Luna with George, actually. Neville developed into a wonderfully strong young man - lots of witches would be lucky to claim him!

Luna and George? Hm, an intresting idea, but I'm not sure I can see that in canon. Unless George went to Luna for comfort after Fred's death. To me, Luna and Neville are pretty good for each other- they both have that unique confidence. I don't think that Neville, eligible as he may be, would really be intrested in someone who viewed him that way.

Well, other than being slightly crestfallen that Luna couldn't find Crumple-Horned Snorkacks, that seems like a good ending for her... although its rather ambiguous and we have no idea who this great-grandson is. I wonder who Neville ended up with in that case?

Well, until that interview I was thinking Luna would end up with Dean. My reasoning is that Luna and Dean spent a lot of time together in Shell Cottage while Harry, Ron, and Hermione were holed up with Griphook, or whatever that guy's name was. I think Luna's a bit too spacey for George. But I like your outside-the-box thinking!

I never considered Luna and Dean, but somehow they don't really seem that compatible to me, as Dean seems even less likely to be able to cope with Luna's spaceyness than George. I always feel like Luna is in the same year as the Trio, but then I remember she's actually in GInny's year. Right? :/
