Default JK Rowling interview reveals more about the Epilogue (Spoilers)

JK Rowling was on Dateline Harry Potter: The final chapter - Harry Potter - MSNBC.com and revealed a great deal about how she imagines Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows ending. She is straightforward about certain bits we've all been wondering about. For example:

Harry and Ron utterly revolutionized the Auror Department in-- at the Ministry of Magic. So they-- I mean, they are now the consummate-- they are experts. It doesn't matter how old they are or what else they've done.
So Harry and Ron lead the way in recreating the new Auror Department. And by the time-- 19 years later -- I would imagine that Harry is heading up that department, which is not corrupt in any way. It's-- it's a really good place to be. And Hermione … I think she's now pretty high up in the Department for Magical Law Enforcement.
Where I would imagine that her brainpower and-- and her knowledge of how the dark arts operate would really give her a, you know, a sound grounding.

and

To hear that Teddy Lupin -- Lupin's son is obviously okay. That he has an ongoing relationship with Harry and that he's-- he must be quite happy and he's got a very good-looking girlfriend because I think he's kissing in the epilogue his-- Bill and Fleur's eldest daughter.

Anyway, go read

Angry Re: JK Rowling interview reveals more about the Epilogue (Spoilers)

I think I could....
I think I.... *breathes*.

Unforgivable. Utterly unforgivable. She SWITCHED... how could she?... I haven't even finished reading the interview and I am just SO MAD. Furious. Raving, raving mad.

Snape's "betrayal" in the 6th book is nothing compared to this. This is true and pure betrayal.

Just couldn't bear to lose one of her precious Gryffindors. No, the werewolf, he's dark, he can die. Tonks, is great, but she's a Black, so she can die too. And Fred, they've still got George, the twins might be the only Weasleys who aren't the consumate Gryffs, and of course, its' okay to kill off one of them, to seperate half of the whole.

Will apologize and post something more coherent when I calm down. Might take a few days... so I might rant. Just warning you.

Still Seething.

She killed Molly's brothers in the first war. Does that help?

Well, they were Prewetts, technically.

It's more still the fact she killed off Remus, you know. And Tonks. Right after they had Teddy. As a replacement death.

Huh. I must still be mad.

I have just read the interview. Imagine how difficult it would have been for her to write as she did. to kill any character - knowing there were fans everywhere. I don't think she could have pleased everyone.

I am so thankful that she kept Mr & Mrs Weasley alive. They were the best things to happen to Harry. Parental figures, who always cared, who always had his best interests at heart. I have been a fan of Molly Weasley from the very beginning. (I'm ecstatic that she took out Bellatrix).

anyway, the epilogue - does give me the feeling that Harry finally found peace at last. That she mentioned this in the interview makes me feel good - like - I 'understood' what she was aiming for.

I don't think anyone could ever be satisfied - but given that the series had to end. It's great that there still are unanswered theories. if eveything was fully explained - sites like this wouldn't be so popular - would they?

random thoughts as usual.

I agree with Ging.

I thought Jo came off as very thoughtful, considerate and respectful of her fans. The interviewer Meredith was very annoying but that is clearly not the fault of JKR. (Who cares if she read the ending first. The interview was about JKR and the book, not about Meredeith.)

And I was relieved about Mr. W. and Hagrid.
