I love Snape. I really thought he was for Voldemort before the seventh book came out. I am ashamed.

Doesn't the headmaster have to be elected by people from the ministry? so was snape technically a headmaster?

What an interesting theory - that Dumbedore suspected that Harry would live, but that it needed to be kept from him. I always thought Snape was protecting Harry - because I trusted Dumbledore so much. I got very very worried in this last book when Dumbledore's less than astute past came out.

I kind of liked that Dumbledore had some hard times and learned from them. It made him more likable and human.
