I really identify with Hermione, she has lost her love and must being feeling very alone in the wizarding world at this time, especially since she put that enchantment on her parents. The only person that she has left is responsible for sending away Ron. I would hate to imagine feeling so alone in such a time of utter turmoil.
i completely agree with you there. that was quite sad when you think about it that way.

I thought Dobby's death was very sad--it was so well written, it really got you! Good point about Hermione--she must have felt so alone with the enchantment on her parents and maybe wondering and worrying if it would turn out to be the right thing to have done.

I agree that Dobby's death was also very sad. it was probably about the only death written in great detail. it was written very emotionally.

I agree with everyone's sentiment's. Especially sad for me was Harry's final walk to meet Voldermort.... his companions filled with love and gratitude ... not being able to touch him! And the loneliness ... of self sacrifice, accepting death ... for the greater good! Very powerful.

Harry's walk to death saw quite sad.

I don't really agree with you on Hermione and Ron's leaving because 1) Everything turned out okay anyway and 2) I saw it as more of a question of "doing what is right and doing what is easy". Ron choose the latter, it wasn't Harry who forced him to go. Hermione did have quite a difficult time there- but I felt it, overall, it really paled in comparison to some of the other moments in DH.

The death of Severus Snape was soooooo sad. Dying on a dusty old floor his last memory, starring into the face he detested for a glimpse of the eyes he'd always loved. Bitter Sweet!

The saddest moment that I think will make me want to cry is when Hedwig, Moody, Fred, Doobu and Snape died. Snape was by far my favorite teacher. -

Unhappy Re: The saddest moment?

" No - no - no ! " someone was shouting " No! Fred! No!"
And Percy was shaking his brother, and Ron was kneeling beside them, and Fred's eyes stared without seeing, the ghost of his last laugh still etched upon his face.

I agree. I think I've said almost the same thing somewhere in this thread.

I've had the lower part of my Siggy for some time now and the avatar. Always knew that Snape would come good in the end. I guess I was a bit disappointed when JKR left him to die without having him do something that would have absolved him in everyone's eye. Or without Voldemort realizing him for the role he played for Dumbledore. Even Snape slapping Voldemort once or something, perhaps in front of a crowd, might have been nice. Or having him tell Voldemort how he was truly Dumbledore's man.
