That was the saddest moment for me too - without a doubt, Snape looking at Lily as he died. I reread the part when DD asked Snape if he cared for Harry after all this time - originally I thought Snape answered to the affirmative, but after rereading, I now sadly acknowledge that Snape never ever cared for Harry, all that he did was for Lilly - always.

Yes, the only reason Harry meant anything to Snape was because of his eyes, now we know why JK said that Harry having his mother's eyes would be so important.

How are they going to handle that in the movie since, in their wisdom, the movie makers have Daniel's eyes blue and Lilly's eyes green!?

Only us really obsessed HP fans will notice, I think, if they give him contacts in the 6th and 7th movies. (Or you know, the teenage girls salivating over Daniel himself.)

That's considering they even pay that much attention to the detail in that scene, since Sirius' death was HUGE in OotP, and it seemed botched to me.

Do you think the movie will glamorize it and have Snape care for Harry? But Snape does NOT care for Harry - what an odd and tragic hero he is...

Well, Severus DOES care for Harry, but only in the sense that he is the last (or most important) relic of Lily. No, I think the movies are even more likely to antagonize Severus than JK herself is, who didn't really think of him as a hero herself, so we might see a scenario where Lily/Snape is left out and Snape is portrayed as being neutral, or something of the sory. Which would be horrible... but possible.

Snape neutral? over JKs dead body - may that never happen! that man may be many things, but he is never neutral! Let's hope that the screen writer is a true HP fan and reads carefully - enough to realize the importance of Snape

Well, Tonks and Kingsley both got about 2 minutes of screen time, the Veil wasn't really defined (and they AK'ed Sirius instead), as well as Kreacher, Dobby really only appeared in the 2nd movie... you get the idea. They leave and change a lot of things. Marietta was just deleted.
Maybe not neutral, but not as the hero he is in the books.
I have the foreboding feeling that JK will not care quite as much as the we hope she does.

When they started filming SS/PS, Daniel tried wearing green contacts. But his eyes had a bad reaction to them or something.
Anyway, it's more important thay Harry's eyes are like Lily's than it is that they are green. I think that Lily will have blue eyes in the moive.

Well, maybe they could just edit it- you know, digital effects.

But BLUE eyes?! That's such an odd idea, because Harry/Lily's green eyes are so trademark. It's like saying Harry's scar won't be lightnning bolt shaped or something similar. (Was there / did we ever figure out the signifigance of a lightning bolt shape?)
