I can't verify if he was a mudblood lol. Maybe JKR just killed him to stir up our emotions. He was very dedicated to Harry. I think I also recall him as one of the petrified. Lets just say that Collin is our author's patsy.

Yes. Or rather, seven horcruxes (on of them an unknown accident) and an eighth shard in Voldemort's new body.
The shard that was released when his first body was destroyed was bound to this world by the existence of the horcruxes. It floated around alone until he and Peter somehow created the thing we saw in the beginning of GoF.

And yes, Colin and Dennis were muggle-born. See CoS, chapter six.

I had not put that little 2+2 together about Colin -- I hadn't forgotten it, but I hadn't put it together -- good pickup.

I'd read in Time that the publishing company actually hired a continuity person to make sure that kind of thing didn't happen. oops

Although, I guess (with a huge stretch in my guessing) that Colin could have sneaked in somehow once he found out that the fighting was going to start or had begun.

SECOND BATCH of questions:

Explain horcruxes again... Starting with how the shard of Voldemort's soul survived Godric's Hollow.

What was "The Bribe" in chapter eleven?
Did the locket horcrux have an effect on Umbridge, or was she already pure evil anyway?

Is the Quibbler up again? (I don't understand this question.)
Where did Teddy Lupin grow up?
Is Snape's portrait in the Headmaster's office?
Who became the headmaster or headmistress of hogwarts?
Who became the minister of magic?
What happened to the remaining death eaters and their families?
Was the name of Sirius Black ever formally cleared? Did he receive any acknowledgment, like the "Order of Merlin"?

Ok, I'm giving up on the Private Message thing for now.
I'm looking for help from Leah1980, Aohamora, llikat314, mcdirector,
hpluver4ever, Victoire, jelf, elmoro and, of course, Aberforth.
If you ever get your Owls to work, let me know.

Guys --

Try this link and tell me what you think.
Questions for JKR

This survey is NOT open yet, so don't bother answering it.
You can test it if you like, but it's just a rough draft.
I don't know how many votes each person should get.
I just started with ten and the list grew and grew.
I suppose the number of votes should be about half of whatever is the total number of questions.

Comments are welcome.

Psyduck..I've seen it. But some of the questions have very simple answers. I haven't looked at them all though. For instance..the guy who screamed from below in the first chapter was the wand maker who was being held prisoner in the cellar type of thing. We got to work on wiping some of the irrelevant questions out lol. Excellent idea though!! Bravo!!

The survey is very well organized - it is easy to navigate - I like how you have the "don't care" and "delete" option. Are you going to add more DH questions? (like the ones on a prior post - Snape's portrait, etc.)
thanks!

Are you sure that was Olivander?
I didn't think it was so obvious.

I'm sure there is a logical answer to the bribe question..don't have the book with me now..darn it!

The Quibbler was the magazine run by Luna's father.
