Angry Re: Lupin!!!

Well, JK said she couldn't bear to kill off Mr. Weasley, so she killed Remus and TOnks instead. I understand why you wouldn't want Mr. Weasley to die, but what kind of solution is killing off Remus and Tonks?

Bellatrix? Dolohov? Bellatrix should be glad she's already dead, because I wouldn't have the mercy of a quick, easy death. Venegance is sweet. She isn't just easy to hate. She makes it easy to despise, to kill.

Dolohov...well, what are the Dark Arts for, after all?

Bellatrix and Luna - both awesome 3 dimensional characters (and complete opposites) that got we got to know so late -

I think Jo killed Lupin, Tonks & so many others the way she did because in wars people do sometimes die for no good reason, and she wanted to show how brutal it (war) is.

Agreed. I think a lot of people had to die in this book because a lot of people die in war. I'm not sure that all the main characters should have survived. AND I don't know who should have gotten the axe, but if we'd been reading about this in the paper, I don't think all of them would have survived.

Still grumbling and Fred and Hedwig - why? I understand all the others (even Colin) buy why, oh why Fred (feel so sorry for George)

That is true, but JK does have the final say in who lives and who dies, and I just can't shake the feeling that she was biased in her choices.

(Notice that no one we know from the Marauder Era lives. James, Lily, Sirius, Severus, Remus, and even Wormtail are ALL dead.)

Before I heard her interview when she said that she killed Remus to echo what Harry went through, I thought she killed him just so they could all walk with Harry in the Forest.

I'm sure that was part of it.

And the fact of the matter was -- it was an echo. Teddy had so much more than Harry had.
