It bothered me a bit that what Harry most feared for Lupin's child is what happened... Harry really battled Lupin to stay with his child.

yes, but unlike Harry, Teddy did have family to stay with that loved him. Lupin was just so afraid of relationships - of what he might do to the people he loved.

Good point - sounds like Teddy is quite comfortable building relationships!!!

It didn't explain how Colin Creevy died either. The only people with accounts of thier deaths were the ones where Harry was a witness...or where someone elswe had seen what happened and offered an account of the events.
Makes you wonder who the other people who died were.

Poor little Colin wasn't even supposed to be there. He was an even bigger surprise because he was supposed to be in the group shuttled out to safety.

I completely agree that Remus should have at least got a final death scene, the way he died sounded like an afterthought. You haven't even got over Fred, or Severus, and then Remus and Tonks are just DEAD. Nothing except that Harry sees their bodies in the Great Hall.

A replacement death.... I'm still raving over that.

I was talking to my husband over dinner over the weekend. He's so patient. He doesn't care a lick about Harry Potter. I was telling him about Colin Creevy and how sad it was and how if it wasn't for here I wouldn't have even realized what a big fat boo-boo Colin being there even was since he was a Muggle and all. I'd just be all sad about it and not made that connection.

He listened patiently (I'm sure he was very grateful that I've got y'all to talke to and am not bending his ear about everything!).

I don't think the Lupins' deaths were replacement exactly, JK said she was trying to mirror Harry's whole godfather role...but it was extremely sad, it felt like there was no closure to their deaths. In the Bloomsbury interview she said that Lupin was killed by Doleav (sp) and Tonks was killed by Bellatrix
