As a teacher my self during school it is hard for me to have much of a social life at all. My poor children only see me a few hrs per day and on weekends. Perhaps in terms of magical teachers it's even more amazingly demanding.

I always liked the thought that Prof. McG and Dumbledore might have had a past - not even sure if the ages in the books are right - just know the ages are close in the movies...

phineas nigellus at least had kids because he was sirius's great grandfather..so there might be a chance that they had married and had kids, or maybe they couldn't be married at hogwarts
