No it's not. And it's orange -- I'm not getting that in the continuum either. On my shelf, they seem to progress in a certain way, and then it's orange.

It could be I'm just disgusted. I am willing to concede that point on the orange, but it bothers me.

I think it is the moment the wands are in the air in the last battle at the end before Harry catches the wand. I agree that it's the great hall even if it looks more like some forum but in the book it says that dawn was breaking. Sometimes the sky can be very orange? I don't personally like it but that is all I could think of really...

I agree - but I think the artist made a mistake - Harry should be holding Draco's wand.

Yes the orange is not at all appealing. I don't have my book (sis begged to borrow it for her trip - I am too good to her) to check, but I seem to remember that the inside cover is turquoise or something. I don't claim to be an expert in color combinations, but that one seemed fairly hideous to moi.

Supposedly, I guess, the shadowy figures in the background are all the people watching the battle, and Harry is about to catch the Elder Wand... but the mistake about having Draco's wand is right.

And I have to say, nothing what I ever pictured the Great Hall to look like.

Just to clear up the squib issue, on J.K's chat today she said that originally someone would come to Hogwarts who had never done magic before but she changed her mind.
Dunno about the cover art. Only have the U.K versions.

She changed her mind . . .

Kind of blows our theories out of the water, and leaves room for other theories to be so blown too

It just goes to show how we hung on every word she said leading up to the release - thank gosh she was reclusive!

When I first finished the book, with "All was well", I thought there was more because JK had said the book would end with "scar".

She keeps changing things... but hopefully the encyclopedia won't take TOO long.
