I loved dobby and had to stop reading when he died. My heart was broken all over again when Snape was killed. To hate him for so long and than to have him die for Harry. side note. (After the second reading of book six I understood that Snape was on our side.)

JKR writes Snape to be a Potions Master and a spy, and then she writes him a death he really should have been able to survive. I almost like it, becuase it leaves room for him to have faked his own death, but at the same time it's such a lame way to die for Snape, in canon.
Seriously, after everything, I have a hard time believing he died from those bite wounds. If anyone could brew anti-venom against Nagini, it would be him. His soultion is to stick his fingers over the wounds in an attempt to stop bleeding? That's just... out of character, really.

No, I don't think so, it restrained him so that he couldn't halt Nagini's attack, but it didn't choke him. It trapped his arms, while Nagini stuck. It really wasn't clear, I have varying images in my mind of how the cage is suppose to look.

He's a Potions Master and a traitor, a spy working the wrong side. He knew Nagini was used by Voldemort to dispose of victims. He knew his life was in danger. He SHOULD have been carrying his stock of potions around with him. Anti-venom, blood replenisher, a bezoar, the basics for someone in his position.

But he didn't know about the Elder Wand, so how would he know Voldemort wanted to kill him?
