Smile Dumbledore - Wisdom v 'Seeing'

I wonder whether Dumbledore could 'see' into the future - or - whether he was just wise beyond all others.

He really orchestrated just about everything in the last two books. From his death, to Harry's leaving of Little Whinging, to ......

What do you think? I look forward to your responses.

I think he was wise beyond his many years! he used that wisdom to help chart the future and he took advantage of other seers, so I dont think he was one of them too....

Dumbledore could not see into the future.

Remember in book 6, he told Harry he would be doing some guessing as to motivation, etc. He put plans and backup plans into place. he did all he could leaving the crucial decisions up to Harry--and since he was instrumental in Harry's outlook on life, well, ....he left his legacy in good hands. =)

I think he was wise too -- If he could see, he could have stopped a lot of this before it happened and he certainly wouldn't have put on that ring.

I think he would have told Harry more if he could have seen where things were going.

I don't think he would have told Harry more. He held many things back that only came to light with Snape's memories.
He held many things back because he didn't think the time was right to tell Harry yet.

Well, maybe not told him more, but I do think he should have talked with him more. Poor Harry was sooooo left out of the loop that it left him to conjure up things in his imagination that were so far fetched. He really needed someone to guide him. In his eyes, he had Ron and Hermione and Snape picking on him. He had the Dursleys in the summer telling him what a nuisance he was.

mmmm maybe he did need to be told a bit more too. He was the crux of everything that was happening. Aberforth said in DH that Albus was the master of keeping secrets -- maybe he was a bit too secretive? I dunno? maybe not. BUT would it have really hurt for him to have known?

I grew up in a really secretive family. My dad had open heart surgery and my sister and I weren't told until it was over. He could have died. I thought about those kinds of things a lot reading all these books. JUST TELL HARRY!

mcdirector i know what you mean.
it would frustrate the hell out of me when harry was not told these things, esepcially like sirius being his godfather, things like that which should have been done earlier.
but dumbeldore was wise.
i dont think he could see into the future, from what we know he never attempted to say he had any 'seer' in him.
however with his skills in legilimency and occulemcy, he was able to know a person's true character, and the assumptions he made about the stories that unfolded, he was able to have some sort of idea .
knowing ron would leave harry and hermione - to leave him the deluminator, knowing hermione would slow harry down and help him figure out the path of harrows vs horcruxes.
above anything it came down to his outright trust in harry.
he had to belive in harry , he knew harry would still be seeing voldemorts thoughts, which lead harry to clues.
it was all basically a quest. he had to find clues along the way. krum had observed the logo on lovegood, which eventually lead them to hear the story of the dealthy hallows and so on.
and if all else failed, there was snape to help, with his patronus or im sure in some other emergency
