I loved Narcissa's devotion to her son. a mother's love vs self preservation is an interesting thing. Lily Potter sacrificed herself for Harry without question - hence the scar. Narcissa couldn't/wouldn't.

Narcissa, (although worried enough for Draco that she told Voldy that Harry was dead), didn't self-sacrifice which would have ensured Draco's survival... Interesting really

As for Narcissa--someone said she was not a Deatheater, just related to two of them....I am not so sure about that. AHacker
Arent Dromeda and the Lestrange sisters cousins isnt that what Voldie said at the dinner that their cousin had married a werewolf?

I think Harry and his friends did respect Molly they just treated her as most teens treat an over protective mom.....lots of eye rolling going on as she tries to protect them, but thankful shes there on many levels.

I think the door is open for more books, but I doubt it will happen, although JK has said in interviews she didnt want others to write about Harry so maybe after a long break she will give us more....a girl can dream!

I think she might write after a long break. HP has kindof dominated her life for so long and she's had to keep it up. Now that he isn't necessary anymore, who knows.

The Malfoys are kind of interesting in themselves. We know that Draco has at least on child who is at Hogwarts. We know that the Malfoys went into Hogwarts with everyone else after the battle. How were the accepted back into society, how did they do business? I bet Voldemort milked them dry. We know he humiliated them.

Dromeda is their sister. Tonks is her daughter. That makes the Lestrange sisters aunts, not cousins, to Tonks who married Lupin. I am sure Bellatrix did her best to downplay any connection....

it was interesting to see that however much voldemort tried to deny the fact that love was the powerful force he could not contend with, in the end it was those he had once trustes - the malfoys, who turned from him and chose love - family - over evil.

If Harry had not saved Draco from the fire, Draco's mother would have declared Harry alive in the forest.

it would be against harry's nature not to save draco. and again when they stunned the death eaters he was talking to - ron punched him and said, thats twice we've saved your life!
choosing to punch him was a very mature thing - as crazy as it sounds - given the situation and past of their relationship with draco.

if by the off chance he had not saved draco... harry would have had great hatred for him to be able to leave him to die, which would then mean hatred for the mother, which would probably mean he would have just lied to narcissa and said he was. she would have believed him because all she wanted was a glimmer of hope, she was very drained after all that had happened

Harry lie to a grieving mother? NO way! I also remember from HBP that the only reason Draco was so deeply involved was to save his mother and father. Come on! Would you have left your family to die at the hands of Voldemort? Perhaps he should have gone to someone for help-like Snape-but we have to remember that Draco had more than his fair share of ambition, too (thus being in Slytherin) and that had to play out as well.

Again, I would be interested in figuring out the "jobs" each of our primaries took after the fall of Voldemort. Did Harry, etc., go back and finish their last year at Hogwart's or were they given compensation of some kind due to what was accomplished.....To many questions! Ergh! AHacker

The Malfoys are an interesting lot.

I think Voldemort pegged them exactly right when he first summoned the Death Eaters at the end of the Tri-Wizard Tournament.
I think the Malfoy's enjoyed the notoriety of being 'Death Eaters' - while valuing self preservation incredibly high - moreso than Bellatrix and the others who were sentenced to Azkaban. I think they liked the lifestyle that they lived... their own 'power' and 'influence' over the ministry and other high profile people.

That the Malfoy's were headquarters for the Death Eaters - and they were being humiliated in front of the other Death eaters...
That Draco couldn't kill Dumbledore.
That Narcissa declared Harry as dead...

It's cool that even the Malfoys had their limits... and 'some' boundaries in behaviour

shows a number of inconsistencies

Inconsistencies? Not really--human frailties perhaps...even Dumbledore was quick to let you know that he was not perfect!
