Do you think that Ravenclaws would ever need a Remembrall? I mean, they are supposed to be smart, but that doesn't mean they have to have a good memory, so I'm still not sure. What do you think?

Maybe, but being smart is having a good use of logic, being able to understand and digest something that is new to you rather quickly.I think that's what makes good intelect.Memory is important, but that does not make someone smart. You can recite the entire alphabet, but that does not mean you will be able to spell wright or right.Remembering the time table 1 thru 10 is very good, but that won't make you smart if you can't solve 12 x 6 = ??.So I think memory and intelect are two diferent things, but they do go hand and hand.In conclusion I think you can be smart and absent minded at the same time(I happen to have a few friends like that, they have an incredible IQ but always seem to leave their keys locked inside their car ).

I agree Sirius. You can be the smartest person in your class and not have common sense or the ability to remember everything like appointments or who was on the telly last night. Bad thing about remembralls it that you forgotten something but it doesnt tell you what you have forgotten. It could make your head hurt from trying to rememember what you have forgotten. <_<

That was the biggest flaw I saw in them,What good is it to remind you that you forgot something if you won't remember what it is

i'm smart, but i forget a lot of stuff! i don't remember to make my bed in the morning, or to do my chores while i'm writing on my computer. that stuff goes in one ear and out the other! i'm extremely forgetfull but i remember things people teach me.

I have a odd question -- did the book ever mention why Neville got a remembrall?

I guess someone could send me a remembrall because I don't remember if the book said or not. haha
