Yeah, that particular trophy isn't mentioned in book 6. Dumbledore just refers to Riddle collecting "trophies" in the plural, not that specific one. I agree, horcrux or not, it should be destroyed. He didn't deserve it in the first place since it was a framing of Hagrid and once he is defeated, who would want traces of him at their school?

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a Horcrux, but I do seem to remember Dumbledore saying it wouldn't be important enough to him. I'll look it up.

Actually i can't find where Dumbledore mentions the trophy in the Horcrux chapter so maybe he didn't mention it at all. I must be getting mixed up with something else.

Did maybe Harry ask in one of their lessons about the trophy?

Dunno. I've nearly finished Book5 for the goodness knows which time and when i start book 6 again i'll read it all more carefully. don't rush me though, i like to take time over reading, except when its the first time and i read it in about two days.

I don't think Dumbledore actually mentioned the trophy of Voldemort's at all in book six. I might be wrong there, but I think the only reference to it is "trophies" in the plural. When Harry asked about the mouth organ and stuff that Riddle had taken from his peers in the orphanage being possible horcruxes, Dumbledore said that they were only what they were. Nothing special. But I don't think the stuff in the trophy room gets mentioned at all. It's like it's forgotten.

I'm sure you're right.

However, JKR did say that she expected someone to find a horcrux within days after the release of the 6th book. To me, that says it's either Riddle's trophy or the locket at Sirius' house. I think the Trophy is more obvious.
