Unhappy Why?

I love the books, they are wonderful, but I feel like to many great people were killed... Harry didn't have his father James, but gained a Godfather Sirius who ended up dying as well... Then he had Dumbledore who became a great mentor, but he had his time numbered... Then there is his father's last best friend Lupin who started a family with Tonks and was FINALLY happy, but there it goes again and his child is left without parents just like Harry.... It had to be done. But why? In the real world it probably would have happened just like that, but no matter how much we know that, there is still the question and there is still the pain of it all.

I agree.

Some people do suffer incredible loss in life. I think one of the main themes in the series is Abandonment not just physical but emotional. JK showed how it affected different lives:

Dumbledore
Sirius
Snape
Tom Riddle
Tom's Mother
Harry
Neville

But, she also showed how it's our choices that shape our lives and being alone can be a great catalyst for positive change.

i agree with what all of you say,
i've lost my dad, and now my cousin/best friend, along iwth all my great-grandparents, and my grandads in critical condition with cellulitus (which means his legs are gross looking and he can't walk/might lose legs and or life), but i think she's trying to say that no matter how much life gives you teh old one-two, you always get back up, curl your fists and get ready to defend once more.

Yeah, Harry's losses are definitely sad. But, I also think that for Harry, the losses ultimately made him stronger, enabled him to do what he had to do. So at least the lives lost werent in vain....

i agree with harry it seemed that anyone he was close with died
lupin
sirius
dobby
tonks
his parents( he wasnt close but he could have been)
hedwig
fred
dumbledore
and he finds out that snape was there to save him and snape dies
but it has made him stronger in life he thinks about them but he goes on with his life.
i like to think like that its hard but i like to think that you cant hang back on the negatives you have to look forward to whats a head it would keep you moving, and if you lose some one dear you dont really lose them there there, every were. and they have gone some were were they cant be hurting or hurt any more. and that they enjoyed there time here on earth with the once they love. and i think that is what kept and help harry in the series.

It brings a sense of realism into the novel. The pain and death makes the story that much more believable and closer to the realities of such events.

well i think that jk killed them all to give harry more motive to kill voldemort and put a stop to this. and harry not needing more motivation would hae been sick of people dying so i think he would have just wanted to end it just as bad.
