I think they are like apples and oranges. I like apples. I like oranges. They are just two completely different artistic mediums and each have their own merit. They movies have a great storytelling quality and great acting. The books are the story and have great detail. It is safer to say I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!

Books I like to create the images in my head the movies are a little disappointing when you've already got a different image in your head.

Books hands down. I could never pick movies after they left out the Quidditch Cup in the third movie. Plus, books come out sooner, so you know what happens sooner!

In a film the action pulls always so fast on one past. Thus I read books. That I can enjoy those at least.

Things they left out of the movies:
1 and 2: they were ok.
3: QUIDDITCH CUP!!!!!!
4: Bill and Charlie Weasley. How are they going to make the 6th movie without Bill and Fleur engagement? Half the stuff that happens at the Burrow in book #6 is about them!
Also 4: Privet Drive. You don't see the Dursleys at all in movie #4!
Also 4: Most of the Quidditch World Cup.
Also 4: Veela.
I'm sure there are countless other things, but I don't have time to name them all. BOOKS ARE BETTER.

I like both. Each one you can picture differently. If I want more detail I read the books. If i want to skim over the book or dont feel like reading I watch the movies. LOL

I say both.

I used to like the movies more because i didnt really get Harry Potter that much and thought it was just a silly fantasy book.

But now i think the books have gotten better and I got older and I see more in Harry Potter now. Its like a metaphore of real life.
