This chat room was messed up when the site got hacked in to last time, and Dumbledore's the only one who knows how to get it working.

So we're just going to have to wait patiently until he can get it working again .. *twidles thumbs*

You go to the main page(by clicking any link that says 'Harry Potter Chat' and scroll down to the botton and it says how many guests, members, and invisible members that are on and right below it says who is on, and right below that, if anybody is in the chat room, it will say who is in there. I hope that helps!

Yes. The header files were overwritten when I changed machines. Someone volunteered to create a new header but I have not heard from them in the past week. Vacations are probably going to interfere for awhile. Fortunately we all have patience

Where you're seeing the 40 people is not the section for people who are online right now. That's just who's signed on at some point during the day. And if there's anyone in the chatroom, they should show up somewhere around that same place.
