Oh yeah, the Republicans are great. Especially considering Bush's "Patriot Act". Oh, and let's not forget the time he sailed out on a huge battleship and marched around in a uniform in front of a sign that said "Mission Accomplished".
I'd either vote for Hillary Clinton or the Obama guy. I wish Al Gore was running. He would have been great.

Also, I don't even know who Chuck Norris is. So sorry.

They'd be a hundred times better than Bush!
I still wish Al Gore was running.

9/11 would have happened regardless of who was president.
Terrorists do not fight against 'republican americans' - but anyone in the west.

Hedders - Chuck Norris is an action movie star... martial arts... also starred in Texas Ranger or something... not really my cup of tea.... but I guess his name was floated because he could sort out the bad guys.

Obama reminds me a lot of Australia's new Prime Minister. Eloquent, smart, with a sense of fair play and keeping the people involved, and holding himself accountable.

Those who think all conflict should be solved with war & military might will never support this kind of leader. If Obama wins preselection it will be a tough road.

the other thing that upsets me is how cruel the media is with respect to Hilary's appearance. - like - someone - the number of wrinkles on her face should count against her, yet - men can be older than dirt and that is called distinguished.

I know I'm only an Aussie, but I like to think I pay attention to world events and politics.

A win by either Obama or Hillary (is it one L or two?) will be groundbreaking.

Australia has it's first female Deputy Prime Minister (Julia Gillard). The media (and opposition politicians) are also cruel to her - calling her 'deliberately barren' because she doesn't have children. focusing on her clothes, her hair... since when did that have anything to do with one's brain, intellect, oratory abilities and ability to inspire others?

They can try. They had tried, and failed. We have a whole bureaucracy full of people who keep an eye on such things, and have been doing so for eons. My little comment was not about Republians vs. Democrats. Any other president would have heeded the warnings. Bush chose to ignore them. Had anyone else been president at the time, including my grandmother, the twin towers would still be standing. He really is the stupidest man alive.

The same could be said of Hillary.

I don't watch TV very often, but I haven't noticed anyone picking on her for that. Actually, she looks pretty good for her age.
If you're referring to my "pretty boy" comment, It's just a figure of speech. I was talking about their political attractiveness. If you want to talk about their actual appearance, I don't think Obama is all that much to look at. Hillary is prettier.

Bill Clinton said recently, "I've waited all my life to vote for a woman for president. And I've waited all my life to vote for a black person for president. All I can say is, 'God, you're messin' with my head.'"

1. terrorists also fight against anyone in the east, maybe even more than anyone in the west. and i do not believe in the 9/11. i think it was made up. its politics. oil.

2. Arnold Schwartsneger was a movie star too, why not Chuck for president?

3. Obama is good looking

4. it does not matter you are an Aussie. American presidents rule the whole world these days, it would have been more fair if we all could vote.

I don't know anyone who was afraid to say Bin Laden's name.
Those of us who hate Bush shut our mouths for a while, partly out

Yes, I admit it. For a while, I was as big a jerk as Bush, and wanted to hurt somebody.
Fear? Ok, maybe a little fear of flying or fear of the stock market.
Other than that, fear was never a real issue.
Just a blind rage. Blind enough to be happily lead into a stupid, pointless war by a complete idiot.
I had forgotten that feeling. It's lost a bit of it's edge over time.

Where are you from, and where would you get an idea like that?

An interesting thought. It's not fair, but I don't know what could be done about it.

I did read your first link. The second one will take a little more time.

One problem with it all is the use of the word, “hoax.” That implies that it didn’t happen at all, which is so ridiculous that it would prevent most people from bothering to read it. Another lunatic, spewing nonsense? Click, it’s gone.

Once the reading starts…
It did cross my mind. But no decent person would say it out loud. Not without some actual knowledge.
I was kind-of wondering why I hadn’t heard some lunatic conspiracy theory. Or maybe I have and just ignored it.

That Bush himself and a handful of lunatics would want to do something like this is easy to imagine. What is not so easy to imagine is the huge conspiracy that would make this actually happen. That is a lot of people. And that is a level of fear that is unimaginable to in this country. Our minds just don’t work that way. Who could live for seven years without saying a word about all of this?

It is not about money. That is just too many people.
It is not about fear. Our minds do not work that way. Someone would have broken free by now.
It is ideological. Everyone involved must honestly believe that this is the right thing to do. Everyone. Politicians, military, engineers, media… Not just the owner of the New York Times, but every reporter, every employee, every janitor… What could one possibly say to a young reporter in the New York Times that would make him honestly believe this is right?

That is a lot of people.

How could two such extremes live side-by-side and not even know of each other’s existence? Where are all the middle people? The people who half-believe, or are on their way to changing what they believe?

Sure, once in a while, in frustration, ignorant, thoughtless people say that the whole Middle East is more trouble than it’s worth, that we should just nuke the whole area and be done with it. But no one says that seriously…

I am not in denial. I am just trying to sort it out. It's not working yet.
