Here's a historical joke for you. It's also my favorite.

Once an Englishman, Mexican, Texan, and Frenchman were all riding in a plane. Suddenly, the pilot rushed in and said: "We're falling right out of the sky! We have to lose the extra weight!" So they dumped everything that wasn't bolted down out of the plane. Then the pilot said: "We're still falling! Will anyone jump?" So the Englishman says "Long live the Queen!" and jumps out. The pilot says "We're still falling!" The Frenchman, not to be outdone, says "Viva la France!" and jumps out. Then the pilot says "I think if one more person jumps, we'll make it!" The Texan and the Mexican look at each other. Then the Texan says "Remember the Alamo!" and pushes the Mexican out.

I don't get it.

In the 1500s, the Spanish found a strange black tar on the beaches of Galveston. A few of them stepped in it and hurriedly scraped it off their shoes on dry land. The Spanish then spent decades looking for gold, but eventually gave up on Texas.
That black gunk turned out to be oil, which is currently worth a lot.

I just thought some of you might find this funny...
