Well, if you try hard enough, you could make a cracking sound when your wrist breaks. Hmm... Here's a very interesting question I've found: (Not sure if it's imponderable, though.) "The last man on earth sat alone in his bedroom. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door!" Can you change one word in the first sentence to make the knock on the door completely impossible?" Seriously, my dad couldn't figure this one out at all, but I found it in a book called "QuickThinks". (It took me about ten seconds to figure out.)

Yes, the first sentence says "the last man on earth" that doesn't necessarily mean he is the last person on earth so the person at the door must be a woman. To make the knock on the door impossible, you would have to change the word 'man' to 'person' or 'human'. I found this on a website & thought it was interesting. While exploring the wild highlands of Scotland, Crazy Rob was captured by hostile wood fairies. Smazze, the powerful chief of the fairies told him he could make one final statement which would determine how he would die. If the statement he made was false, he would be boiled in water. If the statement were true, he would be fried in oil. Crazy Rob found neither of this options too his liking, so he made a statement that got him out of this seemingly impossible situation. What is the one statement he could make to save himself?

"I am going to be boiled in water." You see, if he says that, and they think it's true, they'll have to fry him. But that would make it false, and so on and so on. Q. Where did the (insulting) term "Dumb Blonde" originate? Last edited by hedwig123 : 09-09-2007 at 04:03 PM.
