Harry Potter World?

Did anyone watch Jo Rowling just now on NBC's Dateline?

She (or Meredith Vieira, the interviewer) said that there will be a Harry Potter World/amusement park at Universal Studios in Florida.

What do you think about this anyone? Have we already discussed it in great detail and I am just the last one to hear?

I'm from the US, and it has been in the news quite a bit... One of the reasons people assumed Harry would survive the series. Would have been a bit tricky making a theme park about a dead character.

I have mixed feelings about HP World. In some ways I am tantalized by the idea of experiencing Hogwarts etc. In some ways it is just too tacky and commercial. Might even be funner if you have not read the books than if you have.

What rides would you like to take?

I want to ride a broom! Not the walloping tree.. hmmm - what rides do you think there will be - I really don't know anything about it - if it's like Disney's Haunted house and you just sit and go through places - I definitely want to explore Hogwarts, but if it's rides like roller coasters, I'm not sure...

The idea definately has a lot of potential. There could be people dressed up like witches and wizards everywhere. They might have a diagon alley! A lot of things could go wrong though.

I would like to see it. Hope they get one in Oz.
