Halloween

Well...I don't know if wendnesday feast is a good word for it,in persian Char-Shanbe means wednesday
and suri means an special celebrity,I don't know completely about it it has a long history anyway...in many many years ago there was a religion in Iran named "Zartosht" they belived in God but they knew FIRE as a clean and clear thing,their religion is kind and right,they are some "zartosht"ies yet but they're not compareble to muslims in Iran,if there were no islam most of iranians were Zartoshti now.

They have had many interesting celebrities one of them is "Char-Shanbe-Suri" on this day that is on the last
wednesday of the year everyone light fires and jump of it this is the most important thing everyone does.
There are many more things...that I don't know most of them, but my favourites are these:One of them is
that we wear Chador(long scarfs that some of the muslims wear it)anyhow that doesn't relate to islam,we
just wear it so that no one can see us,then we go to different houses with a spoon or sth like that we knock
their doors with the spoon some of them come and give us candies we keep on knocking if they don't,some of them splash cold water,... . Fireworks,firecrackers,bombs,...some of them are really dangerous...you know in all of iranian schools girls and boys are seperated in our school since a week before "char-shanbe-suri" girls stand across the street and throw crackers afore boys' foot,last year one of my friends throw a cracker in school and she got fired for 4 days!
we often go out with our friend's yard and have barbecue,we light a fire and we make it bigger and bigger then we jump off it we dance round the fire play different games with it ,...so much fun .
I think you have such this day too.
We have parties that we dress up but not in a certain day as Holloween.but we decorate it like you do on Holloween(just for parties)

We probably know less about Halloween than you know about "Char-Shanbeh-suri."

I'm not sure how much of this is correct. It's just stuff I've heard.
The name, "Halloween" is a (child's?) mispronounciation of "All Hallow's Eve."
I don't remember what "All Hallows Day" was supposed to be.
It was an attempt by Christians to white-wash an old pagan holiday.
I have no idea what the old name was.
"Pagan," from what I gather, is just about any pre-Judeo-Christian religion.
The idea behind "trick or treat" was that the dead can come and bother the living on this one night of the year. If you give them a food offering they will go away and not play a trick on you.

Halloween is also the day before All Saints Day

wow...interesting...I know its history now,tell me more about the things you do,anything I know about it is from movies,we have lived in scotland for 5 years but I don't remember anything... :P

i think he/she was saying that he lived in scotland for five years when he was yonger and does not rember it and he now lives in iran but you obviosly didnt think befor you posted or you would have came to that

For my Halloween, I am going to host a dance party at my house! You can wear costumes if you want but you won't have to.
My dad is planning to do something as a surprise (I heard him telling my uncle last night and my dad is awesome so it will be very cool).
