i was actually more shocked when finding so many oldies were here....
its just that i think because no adults i know here near is reading the books, i was surprised so many were on a harry poter chat...

I would quibble with the idea of putting Narcissa Malfoy in this category.
Of course she cared about her only child.

Heds, you never fail to amuse me.
(But then are we ever really what we seem to be? Smoke and mirrors, shadows and light, the heart and mind of the philosopher are hidden enigmas.)

Dumbledore wasn't exactly what he seemed to be. Especially if you compare how he portrays himself to Harry in the first book and the fourth book.
Remus was a lot more than Harry thought he was, but Harry doesn't find out until the very end of PoA.
Viktor is the Quidditch player, and a Triwizard Champion, but then he becomes a romantic interest for Hermione and an important relationship factor being Hermione/Ron.
Belinda Bagshot. I wasn't expecting her to be a huge snake, I don't know about you. XP
