Donation Request

The last few months for Harry Potter Chat has been extremely difficult. The server HPC operates on costs $324 per month. This cost is usually paid for by the Tux Reports Network. We stopped advertising the site in hopes to cut costs. Yet, summer is a very difficult time for making payments.

We would ask you to do the following -

• if you have a spare $5 (in other words you will not go hungry) - please consider donating for the purpose of paying for the bandwidth.
• if you do not have a spare $5 (we know what you mean!) then please consider the sponsors already advertising on the site. We cannot ask you to click on banners - in fact - that is wrong. Yet, if there is an ad that you find interesting then please check out that site. We mean that you should really check out the site and not just click and leave. Please be respectful of other people's money. Advertising costs.
• if you are under the age of 12 then we would really appreciate you posting more often. Some of you are very quiet. Please speak up

I really want to help but can't donate $5, I just want to know how exactly this will help.

As long as the posts are interesting then this attracts people.

Each time someone clicks on a banner ad then the site earns about $0.01 cent. Yet, someone should never click on an ad just to click and NEVER click more than once a day. In fact, a dramatic increase in clicks can cause the site to lose the ability to show ads - and HARM the site. These clicks are verified.

So, in your case, my suggestion is to enjoy the site. Keep posting and have fun.

Yes, telling friends is a nice gesture, too. Also, the Tux Reports Network has 60 domains. So, feel free to visit one of them, too. For example, we are refreshing Super Star Chat. We removed the old posts from Lindsay Lohan Chat, Hilary Duff Chat, The Beatles Chat, and Norah Jones Chat and combined the sites into one location.

Well lets hope they are still paying and havent forgot about us all together... If you have any extras things like myspace I would try to recruit people here....I dont know what will happen if they forget about this place!!
