Who is Jenny??

I think it was either the 3rd death or the 5th one. Can't remember exactly anymore. (Teddy lived with his grandmother, by the way. Poor boy didn't even get the Map. )

I was disappointed in the way that Harry just got out of those situations so easily and effortlessly!! Also, the way he found all the horcruxes so fast...I didn't think it was supposed to happen that fast!!!!! And the trace?! Don't get me started on the trace. And, why did he depend on Hermione so much? Why couldn't he just figure stuff out for himself? For me, he woke up waaay too many times with Hermione standing there saying "That was a close one Harry", or similar...how many 'close ones' can one person (or two, or even three, depending on how you look at it) have?

I think all of their close escapes are well played out. It wasn't even how quickly they found everything (that was disappointing, but they did have a lot of help, even if they didnt know who it was). It was the epilogue that killed me. It had no information. Yes tell us who married who and all that, but ten years of books and thats how it ends! What happened to everyone else. that chapter would have been fine if after it we would have learned what careers they went into and what about george? And Luna and Neville?
But i still LOVE all the books, 7th included. one bad chapter is forgivable if you ask me.

There's a threshold of justified coincidence and serenpidity. There waere cases, certainly where Harry got lucky. But, they were balanced with careful positioning by major players- say, Dumbledore's hand in ensuring Harry/Trio could pass through the defenses of the Sorcerer's Stone. Furthermore, there were time when Harry got unlucky too. Put it this way: it's not that people don't get lucky. People find money on the street, win the lottery, get the net ball that just hovers for a moment and lands on the other side to give them the win. It's that people don't find thousands of dollars through hundreds of coins and bills picked up randomly on the street. You don't see people stooping every three steps annoucning they've picked up a before unnoticed hundred dollar bill. People win the lottery, but they don't win it ten times in a row. Peopl get points with lucky shots that could go either way but they don't win the entire match based solely upon those lucky net balls.
Harry gets lucky one too many times in DH. And, perhaps most pointedly, he gets lucky on the most important things, on the most crucical moments- it's not that he can't get lucky, it's just rather anticlimatic and contradicting to other trends in the book to think that a significant part of Harry defeating Voldemort was, well, luck.

Thats the whole series is a series of harry winning the lottery a million times according to you so the the whole series is bad a fake.
