I wasn't a fan of the ending myself. The book was a little fast for my liking and Harry wasn't in a lot danger if you think about it. Even so I enjoyed the books very much so. The way they change from light to something heavy gave it meaning enough. But I think the ending should have been worked out a little more.

Ekin- the earlier HP books are NOT simply Harry getting lucky a million times. There is absolutely quality writing in the series. I just happen to think that the majority of it isn't concentrated in DH.

Cinder- thanks for your balanced opinion. Personally I felt that while I transition from light to heavy is perfectly acceptable, even the potential to be Great, but I don't think DH handled it well- not enough 'danger', as you said, not worked out enough, contradictory with the very light sections of the ending.

I agree that there is more luck in the final book and it was a flaw to make the tasks to simplebut overall I would say it still cohears to JK's style.

If it does, then it highlights the contradictions in style much more than any of the other books.
Bottom line, for many different reasons:
It could have been done better. JKR was definitely capable of writing it bettter.

obviouslty all the books could have been better the series could have been better but the final book was still good and imagine you're rowling and you've been writing the samething for 17 years i think you might rush at the end.

DH could have been better relative to the other books, I don't just mean in the general sense.
True. But I'd also consider what the rewards, the immense, glorious, decandantly rich rewards were of that time of writing.
And of course whaving those pleasures could make me less motivated to write.
OR they could drive me to produce my best in order to repay the devotion of those legions of fans, show how I am both grateful and worthy of the distcinction bestowed onto me.
And, because this is the closing book, the last chapters of this story, I'd want them to be especially savorable.

see the whole deal with a finale is tricky they arte usaully not as satifactory as the series as whole so i see there are flaws but the whole wand ownership deal makes sense to me because basically the rule is the wand chooses the wizard and i do think that it a rather cheap way out of explaining details on jks part but thats thats the explanation received
