Seriously--it's OKAY---TIRADE isn't some HP Fringe Group trying to start a coup. Just readers with a few reservations on the way things ended....I posted this on a different thread, but I think it needs to be here too....


Right! I didn't expect to have it end exactly as I'd hoped, with each of my favorite characters alive and all story lines happily resolved. But it could have been such a great book! I was hoping the last would rival the first. It was an entertaining book, and obviously (we are on here, aren't we?) we will read anything HP, but it was a let down. Plain and Simple.

(Is my humor really so lost on that many people? I thought the sarcasm and teasing was rather obvious....)

I hate, hate, hate that Bellitrix got Tonks - just wrong. I understand that JK wanted to echo the loss that Harry experienced, blah, blah, blah - but if Tonks had thrown herself under a giant to save a student or something equally heroic - ok, but to have that witch kill her? too much.

That reasoning makes no sense. If she was already killing off 50 people, her death quota should be OK- I still feel we must have misunderstood. She said she took tonks and remus to echo Harry's start in life, -yet later she alluded to a trade for Mr. W- did she plan to the echo thing only after saving Mr. Weasley?

She wanted to echo Harry's lack of parents (which is ridiculous if you're giving everyone a happy ending in the epilogue and not touching upon that at ALL) so originally she was going to kill off Mr. Weasley, since she already gave him a reprive in OotP (switched his death for Sirius' death. ) but instead, she killed off Remus and Tonks to make Teddy an orphan.

I think this is what you're asking, jelf, but it wasn't very clear.

In that case I'll rant about JKR killing off Remus after making the poor man suffer through transformations since the age of (four?), losing all his friends in one night, gaining two back, but finding out one is a traitor, and having the other killed off as well. After spying and living with werewolves for the Order, he FINALLY gets SOME peace with Tonks and Teddy- only to get killed in two lines. GAH. Seriously, JKR LOVES to torture Remus. He gets- what, two brief glimpses of happiness, and than they are both executed rather quickly.
JKR seriously hates werewolfs. (You know how many full moons he had to go through? )

*ready to duck and cover* JK has him younger and happy when Harry meets him after turning the stone. He's at peace, happy, (um, where's Tonks?)
