Ernie Macmillan

Ernie is friends with Harry, Ron, and Hermione too. Though he did think Harry was the Heir of Slytherin in The Chamber of Secrets.

Ernie joined the DA in book 5.

I remember in the library when Ernie was talking to the Hufflepuffs about how Harry was the Heir of Slytherin.

i think that earnie wants to be a good friend but look harry has so much problems remember how his parents didn't want him to talk to harry i could tell he wanted to but he was confused don't know what to do disobey his parents or what if they were right about harry if he was a fake maybe that was going through his mind

i guess its kinda weird how ernie becomes friends with them so quickly in the sixth book. but its just because there was no one else other than the slytherins to talk to in slughorn's potions class.

He was willing to be in the DA the previous year though, even though he knew it could risk his having a prefects badge. In Harry's eyes he's seen as a little pompous.

As for thinking that Harry was Slytherin's heir, I think a lot of the school thought that, he was the articuler of that view that Harry overheard. He did come and apologize to Harry when Hermione was attacked because he knew Harry wouldn't attack her. He didn't have actual proof to go by there, but being a Hufflepuff and therefore loyal he would have applied that to Harry and Hermione's friendship.
