I don't really understand how that curtain he fell through made him die. It's emptiness in it or something, but I'm wondering if maybe Sirius will come back now?

Much as I hate to say it, I think Sirius is gone for good. He would have come back to help the Order fight, he wouldn't sit around and wait till the right moment.
