I do also think they are both dead but they will still play an important part because J.K. Rowling said her self that the two way mirror will play a really big part in this book. She said this in her online interview with her fans on world book day lol.

Well people to use the two may mirror they has to be two mirrors but harry broke his remember but if a normal person breaks a mirror then u get more pieces of smaller mirrors. Now James and sirrius have been said to use the mirrors before but harry know that sirus does not have it due to the fact he did not answer his call remember. But this is where it gets good say that someone like dumbledore had a piece of the mirror of the other mirror that may have been given to him by james or sirius. Then they would be able to communicate and maybe even bring Dumbledore and sirius back but that last part probly wont happen. You see now im not insane just a bit crazy. lol but remember this is only guess work. lol

as far as sirius being dead goes, i don't know if he is or not, because in the OOTP, it doesn't specify what spell Bellatrix hit him with... the one before was a red one, which is a stunning spell, but it didn't say what the one that hit him was.... so, he could have just been temporarily stunned and fell through the veil.... when he woke up, maybe there is some enchantment on the veil where if anyone falls through, they can't come back out? maybe there is some spell or something...
