I don't know why I even read posts like this.
They only annoy me.
We know the movies will continue to stink.
I think it's a requirement of their contract.

I think that's more than a bit unfair. First of all, 3 of the four films are quite good. Secondly, all you have seen of the fifth is this list. You try turning an 800 page book into a 2 1/2 hour movie and see what happens.

Your loyalty is admirable. But seriously, folks, skipping past all the denial and wishful thinking, the movies have all stunk.

If I were in charge and I knew from the start that there's no way to do it well, I would try another approach. Something that could, concievably, in my wildest imagination, possibly work, rather than something I absolutely know for a fact is impossible. How stupid do you have to be to try something that you know you can not do?

In my circles, the popular definition of "insanity" is attempting the same stupid move over and over again, ever hoping for a different outcome. Smarten up. It didn't work the last 80 times you tried it, and without adding any new variables, it won't work this time.

I've already suggested one alternative approach -- splitting it into more than one movie. I'm sure these geniuses could think of other alternatives if they gave it a shot.

I beg to differ. Reptitive actions can be quite usefull. And really if they stink so much let's see you make a 3 er 2 & 1/2 hour movie. And yeah some of the movies stunk, but that doesn't mean ya should prejudge the next. Oh. And Is lupin gonna come back. Since he's in the order? Hope so.

That pink text is pretty, but it's serious work.
I got through it, but it took about a year.
I suppose such things are easy for you young'ns.
I don't remember back that far.

Sure, if it works. But no, repetitive actions that DON'T WORK should not be repeated. The same thing won't work next time, for the same reason it didn't work last time. If you know exactly what didn't work and why it didn't work, doing it again is crazy.

That was the point. Everyone knows that it can't be done in one movie. It makes no sense to waste all that money and talent and my time on a movie they know will fail. After four dismal failures, sanity should tell you to try something different.

It has nothing to do with loyalty. I like something or I don't like something.
I had serious issues with the fourth movie, but the others were quite good, especially the third.
I don't have the same feeling about all of them. This is in sharp contrast to you who hates making them into films in the first place. You dislike the very idea of them.
You're not unique in this position, but that only makes it more pitiful.

They considered that for the fourth movie but decided against it. Why? It wouldn't work. Especially in the fourth. There's no natural breaking place. Ultimately, these stories are thrillers/mysteries. You can't break the story up like that and have it work.

Couldn't they make it a two disc feature. And end it after all the ball scenes.

I thought it was purple, but oh well.

At the end of "The Fellowship of the Ring,"
I heard people walking out of the theatre grumbling about the non-ending.
They obviously had not read the book, so who cares what they think.
Ending the movie there made sense to everyone who matters.
The others deserve no consideration.

Breaking Harry's fourth year at the Ball scene could have worked. Maybe find a mini cliff-hanger in the Rita / Hagrid story.

Ending the fifth year just after the attack on Arthur could work, too. You could make a cliff-hanger about whether he survives or not.

We could sit here and toss out ideas 'till the cows come home. They're easy to do when you want to. When you care. The point is that these bozos should try. It's a great book and deserves a great movie. They are not making an honest effort. They know that they are churning out trash and they don't care.
