First, I have to say I love your petition idea! I, personally, was disappointed by the movie versions and would like to see some major changes.
I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but there could be big problems ahead if/when the petition starts getting recognition... The main problem I can see so far is that you have to stop re-drafting this thing and get a final copy, because the only signatures that are going to be valid are the ones signed to the final copy. I'm saying that you cannot keep rewording the document and then stick previous names to it - you'd be putting words in those peoples mouths. Even though it is completely unintentional, it's a form of deception.
Once you have the final draft, then invite people to sign when they can read every word they are asked to support.
A better way to get attention for the petition is to send a copy to the administrators of popular Potter sites, JK's publishers, even local media (school newspapers, public libraries, newspapers). Let the owners of the sites (like Mugglenet) decide if they want to showcase this. It is a great idea, and I think that once people see that it's also a serious issue and not a passing fancy, they'll take it seroius too.
Finally, and this is way important! Your final draft must be articulate, concise, and respectful. Whatever is said on these boards, by way of venting bile, ranting, cussing, etc., has to be eliminated from the final draft. There should be no name calling, no abusive language; rather a tactful plea for change, citing (when necessary) where the prevoius movies have failed and how best to correct this in future movies.

unless i've missed something, if so let me know) But currently, there should only be one copy and now were trying to rewrite it. Tuesday is the due date for ideas before we start writing it. Then that one is going to be the official petition to send to wb and such.
