Where do you think Harry would go if not Gryffindor?

Even the Sorting Hat said it was a difficult choice.

I think Slytherin ... because of Riddles influence and possibly if he were bitter because of his home life that may have been another strong influence.

Not Ravenclaw ~ he had TALENT (natural disposition , like his flying) not an analytical mind. He was also a hot head!

I agree, Slytherin.

1. He's a parseltongue
2. He doesnt really fit into Ravenclaw
3. As for Hufflepuff, he is fiercely loyal, but Gryffindor or Slytherin seem to suit him better

He wasn't unintelligent. What, Ravenclaw is full of geniuses?
WHY would he go to Slytherin. In fact, he specifically said "Anything but Slytherin." to the Sorting Hat. He didn't specifically ask for Gryffindor.
If Harry could read this, he'd probably be insulted...

I say Slytheren because of voldemort and a part of his soul in him i would say he definatly would fit into slytheren

my next choice would be ravenclaw

I picked Ravenclaw... honestly, I can't imagine Harry anywhere but in Gryffindor, but it's easier to imagine him in Ravenclaw than Slytherin. He would have killed himself before getting stuck in Slytherin.

I'd say Slytherin- the Sorting Hat obviously saw the potential in Harry, and I don't think it was all about the piece of Voldemort's soul either.
But if not Slytherin, definitely not Ravenclaw. If he has't a Gryffindor or a Slytherin, Harry would be a Hufflepuff.
If you seriously simplified it down to the most basic House traits- I think everyone has to agree that "loyal" describes Harry more than "smart", no matter which one you personally value more. Harry has some great instinct, some really inspired moments- but those aren't in academic acheivement.
Still, especially for the younger Harry, maybe less so than the older Harry (but, come on, only the absolute dim-wits don't get any smarter or mature as they age seven years) Slytherin would have been his most likely House. Sure, he said, "Anything but Slytherin" but it's a choice that he made -yes, I know what Dumbledore said about choices, hear me out- based on really rather meager information. He essentially didn't want to be in Slytherin because of the personal opinions of all of- what, three, maybe four people that he met between the time he found about about Hogwarts and the time he was Sorted.
Personally, I've always felt that Gryffindor and Slytherin were the two more fierce- more extreme- Houses. Harry is certainly a bit of an extreme case. And he's demonstrated some very Slytherin traits- 5th year, especially, I think. Furthermore, self-defense or not, Harry had resulted in the death of another human being by the age of twelve. Weathering through that- dismissing it, in some aspects- is more of a Gryffindor or Slytherin ability. Would you even wnat to imagine the backlash of Justin or Cho going through something similar?
