Why Does Dumbledore Trust Snape?

I like your view upon it, and I might think you got right, cause draco hesitate wenn he has every oportunity to kill dumbledoor. so.. maybe.. dumbledoor says something with his mind, and snape caught it, and killed him.. it's weird, but it could be the it happend..

I had to close the book and cry for about haf hou before I continued!! I still cried even through the rest of it!!

Dumbledore saw some goodness in Draco, something worth saving.
He also had Harry to protect, and if he (Dumbly) was killed when
Snape wasn't there, Harry would have come out swinging.
So, Dumbledore used his occlumancy (spell?) to tell Snape what to do.
This also saved Snape's cover, once and for all.

Surely Snape knew of Harry's presence.
He also had every opportunity during the run out to the gate,
but he just kept on teaching.

I cried when i was finshing the book it was really sad the way Jo was explaining about how harry felt it made it worst

Maybe........ as noted in the HBP snape was an accomplished potion maker and studied well in lessons with slughorn... So however was Lilly James. They would have been in the same class together.

Is it not a possibility that snape liked lilly and when she got together with James this was the basis for snapes increased hatred of him. Maybe Dumbledore knew snapes old feelings for lilly and therefore knew he would never have wished any serious harm to come to her , so believed that he was genuinely sorry when Voldemort used the prophecy to attack lilly and her family!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There must be something unknown obviously between Snape and Dumbledore..

A good comment but if you remember dumbledore himself even said i dont often make mistakes but when i do they tend to be on a level with my good deeds. In other words extremely big mistakes.......was this one???????

Also why freeze harry ..??? the deatheaters wouldnt kill him ...he is to be killed by the dark lord ONLY...... Unless there is a plan between Snape and dumbledore????????

You have a point there. I think Snape somehow fancied Lily, but didn't say anything because she was a "Mudblood". I liked your theory about Dumbledore knowing this and that's why he trusted Snape. However, there had to be something more. Mind you, Dumbledore was almost against everybody when he said he trusted Severus with his life. And in the end, he did trust him with his life, didn't he?

Definitely agree theres more to the story but i think dumbledore was on his way out anyway ...hence the dead hand and that may have been spreading.....thats why he gave harry all the info he had on how to defeat Voldemort and also saving both malfoy and allowing snape to gain Voldemorts complete trust,( a perfectly placed spy) which in thend will help harry beat him and allow snape to avenge lily and clear his conscience.....this could be going somewhere what do you want to add in.......

Dumbledore would never beg for his life! I think he asked Snape to kill him, because he wanted to save Draco from being a murderer and he wanted Snape to be trusted by the death eaters. I think the argument Dumbledore and Snape had in the forest was about Snape telling Dumbledore he didn't want to be the one to kill him anymore. Also, the letter found with dumbledore was addressed to 'the dark lord' don't only death eaters call him that... or ex-death eaters? I think Snape wrote it.

snape had two options unbreakable vow or to be found out as a spy and killed by voldemort not saying i like him but he may not be as horrible as you think
