Kreacher is a rat-faced, jug-eared spawn of the devil but at least you know where he stands. And if he is guarding a Horcrux, I'd be willing to bet the Horcrux belongs to a member of the Black family. So he could well be guarding the Horcrux that RAB took from Voldemort or he could be guarding a Horcux for Bella LeStrange. She has bumped off a few people in her time. Maybe she's into soul shredding too. I wonder if Mundungus Fletcher will break into No. 12 and steal the Horcrux and attempt to sell it to Harry. Wouldn't that be sweet.

Ok, one popular theory is that "R.A.B." was Regulus Black, Sirius' little
brother, who was a Death Eater for a while, then realized his error.
He was killed, of course, probably twenty years ago or so.

The little boat would not carry two adult wizards, so Regulus' helper
might have been a child or an elf.

In The Order of the Phoenix (page 116 or so?) they found a heavy locket
that no one could open, and tossed it in the sack with the rest of the trash.
Kreacher could have snuck the locket out and hidden it.

OH yea he's a dirty little house elf and mean that what he did to his Master Serious... I blame Kreacher for this very sad episode
