Anyway,I reckon the ministry should restore hagrids wand to him, but let's face it, when have the ministry ever done what they should?!

Too true! The Ministry of Magic is always out of whack. Maybe this is a reference to our (muggle) governments.

I too believe that Hagrid should be in some Wizard Rehabilitation. If criminals can serve a sentence in Azkaban and be reissued their wand after release, then Hagrid should be able to get Rehab or take a wizard's equivalent of a GED. After completion of either, Hagrid should be able to get a new wand if he passes.

Of course, since Hagrid is part giant, he is considered "dangerous", and the Ministry walks a narrow line between allowing some magical creatures to possess wands, and others not.

On the whole, Hagrid has little need for a wand - he'd probably only get into trouble using it anyway.

You can't always get a new wand. If you "lost" your wand due to misdeeds it would be like being convicted of a felon in the muggle world. Apparently they do not have a black market to buy wands in the wizard world.

I think that the the reason is that Fudge did not want to admit that he was wrong and that they could have put a stop to Tom Riddle before he kill any more people and gain power over all of the wizarding population.

indeed i have wondered that myself. maybe because u can only get one wand? no that doesnt make sense. because luna got another from ollivander. so i would say that he doesnt want one or they know that he has the remains in the umbrella
