Did Slughorn Really Like Harry?

Do you really think that Slughorn would have ever talked to Harry if he wasnt famous?????

Its a hard question. Because there are other students at the school that aren't famous, Ginny Weasley, for example, whom he favours with invites to the Slug Club. I think he's figured out what sort of characteristics a student needs to end up going somewhere and thus gives them legs ups as Dumbledore calls them. So, where does that leave Harry? If he's not the chosen one then he's got a few things going for him, such as being a good seeker at Quidditch, Slughorn might show interest in him for that. He can also produce a corporeal patronus at his age which is a big achievement. Of course, being nice to someone for what they might become and what they might benefit a teacher for isn't really a good reason for being nice. It sort of cheapens friendship I think.

well slughorn doesent just look for people who are famous he looks for people who show talent in all different areas ginny he got for doing really good spells meaning that he wanted her cause one day she might become a famous duler or invent lots of new spells or even right a book on how to cast spells and he thinks into the little details of everything so that one day he might benfet fom them
