| Yeah Hagrid seemed to be able to do a fair bit of magic when we first meet him in the 1st book. Maybe that was all just everyday charms that any kid growing up in a magical house would know rather than difficult 'gotta go to school to learn' magic. Hagrid seemed uncomfortable about anyone seeing him do magic rather than about the idea of doing magic. I reckon he does a fair bit of magic when he's alone with his pink umberella. Another quicky, somewhere, sometime Zonko posted a really good definition of 'charms', 'transfiguring' and 'spells'. I can't find it again but I'm pretty sure it defined 'charms' as wand magic that is used to alter an object, like 'Wingardium Leveosa' and 'Allohamora'; the stuff Flitwick teaches. If that's true, then how come it's called the 'Patronus Charm'? Sorry, back to Ron and Harry. Have you seen the Viktor Krum? Wow, now that is good lookin'! Once this boy treads the boards, Daniel will look like chopped liver and Rupert will look like custard gone off: Very un-nummy in comparison to the nummy Krummy! |
