Was it ever confirmed that Dumbledore was actually a Gryffindor? With all his academic awards, he sounds very Ravenclaw, and after all his subtle planning, he could have been in Slytherin as well. At least, to me, personality-wise.

Ah, and don't forget his Hufflepuff tendencies of diplomacy and loyalty. I think it is conventional wisdom that he is a Gryff, but you have a very good point. Each house could make an argument for him.

Great loads of loyalty he had for his pawns, hm? To his family? He has certain Hufflepuff traits, but I think, not counting Gryffindor (which, when you think about it, doesn't seem to be as strongly demonstrated in him than Ravenclaw, say) that the other Houses are more suited to him. Very good point. I was considering his loyalty to Harry (sorry, guilty of the Potter-centric Obsession again) and his apparent hard work in school. But you are right, definitely--he is closer to Slytherin, especially when we discover his internal struggle with lust for power.

I think he could have easily qualified for Ravenclaw or Slytherin, as well as Gryffindor, but I think his Hufflepuff traits are dominated by his other characteristics.

Hermione, Gred, and Forge are three of my favorite members of Gryffindor. But Remus is still top.

Sorry, but I must admit Ron is my favorite. I cannot explain why. Just adore the...what do you call him....git? Dunderhead? Yep, that's my favorite.

Ron is one of the major reasons Slytherin appeals to me so much. He is the epitome of Gryffindor, in all it's over-glorified faults.

I have to say, I thought as a Puff Neville would appeal more to you instead of the git.
