Yes. She can transforn into a cat. IF you have ever read book one, she is the cat that Harry's uncle keeps seeing. The one that was reading a map and then a road sign. Plus, he kept seeing the cat around the house all day.

No no, shes not like mooney. Mooney isnt really an animagus. But she is like the others.

She must be cuz to be able to transform into a cat or any other animal, even if it was inside the Hogwarts grounds, she'd have to be enlisted as an Animagus. I don't think it just has to do with Transfiguration.

You're right, moony is not an animagus, he's a werewolf. The difference between them is that animagi transform themselves by choice, whereas werewolves have no choice at all, poor Lupin
